Britannia Parking’s Bristol Harbourside site is a popular location due to its diverse mix of shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and offices, as well as fitness and entertainment venues, it is also one of Bristol’s biggest and busiest car parks.

Britannia Parking started the operation of this car park site in 2006 and since then have planned further refurbishments. At the start of 2015 this meant a wiring and lighting upgrade.

However, due to the short life span of the existing florescent lights coupled with the high energy costs associated with these fittings we had a preference to move towards the more energy efficient and longer lasting Light Emitting Diode (LED) fittings.

Following the install we have seen savings of up to 50% on the energy usage as well as a significant improvement in lighting levels, something which has been well received by users of the car park.

The combination of these factors, combined with reducing our carbon footprint have pushed us to review other sites within the estate that would benefit from such a lighting scheme and we anticipate further roll outs during 2015.
